The Bravia KDL-52XBR9 is in the higher end segment at Sony and it is a pricy TV that is in stiff competition with Samsung 7 and 8 series. There isn’t really much bad to say about this TV in terms of a regular LCD TV, it has a packed feature set and delivers good black levels, though not outstanding, but when you get to the end of the day the Sony is just to expensive for what you get. I would strongly advice that you look at some less expensive models or look at Samsungs LED lines, or Sonys LED TVs, although even pricier.

Reviews:

“This TV has the absolutely best picture I have ever seen. The contrast is awesome. The blacks are very black and the white’s are super white, and the colors are so vibrant and realistic. Sports are fantastic to watch, you can see the blades of grass.” – Sonystyle user review

“Expensive; benefits of 240Hz difficult to discern; dejudder modes can produce artifacts; some screen uniformity and off-angle issues; dark areas tinged bluer; most free, streaming-video options not compelling.” – CNET

“The bottom line….This is a fantastic tv. Sound quality is very good for a flat panel, especially in surround mode. Amazon had the best price and more importantly, they can be trusted. Black levels aren’t quite as dark as with tvs with LED backlighting but the picture is still quite good..” – Amazon user review
