Sony Bravia KDL-40S5100
Sony KDL-40S5100 is a moderately priced 40″ LCD TV with full HD 1080p resolution and the Bravia Engine 2. Sony has a wide lineup of TVs these days and it’s not too long ago that you had to pay up three times as much for a Sony full HD TV with specifications that were otherwise much poorer then this one. So why complain on a nice looking Sony TV for under $1000, it doesn’t stand out in any respect but it doesn’t really fall short in any respect either. The 40S5100 is a solid performer that, as long as you get the dimming function fixed, shouldn’t leave anyone disappointed.

Reviews:
“Pros: Great value; contrast ratio; 1080p; 40 inch screen.
Cons: Without the update/patch there is the auto-dim feature; only 60hz
Overall: I loved the TV at first, then hated it when I noticed the auto-dim, now love it again now that I downloaded the update. I would recommend this TV for anyone looking to upgrade to HD.” – Amazon user review
