PN50B550 is a 50″ HDTV from Samsung that is capable of displaying fill HD 1080P signals. It’s a midrange Plasma TV that delivers good quality images without too many fancy extras, although Samsung has so many strange names for their extra features. So for the fancy features this has Touch of Color, e-panel technology, Wide Color Enhancer 2, Game Mode and some more..

It is, compared to older models, rather energy efficient and has a great antiglare coating on the screen, otherwise reflections is a big problem for Plasma TVs.

Reviews:
“Like Panasonic, Samsung is touting “600Hz processing.” Here’s our effort to staunch consumer confusion: ignore this feature. It basically means plasmas have very good motion resolution, but as usual, it’s very difficult to discern the difference for most people.” – CNET (mini review)

“I received this TV last week and so far it has been AWESOME! I would have given it 5 stars but the sound quality is a little muffled. It doesn’t bother us much since we plan on hooking up a surround sound system but if you are using the TV’s speakers exclusively, you may want to reconsider.” – Amazon user review

“This is a great TV. I was torn between buying last years model the pn50a vs this years pn50b. I decided to get the newer one because its supposed to use half the energy. The pn50B is dramatically cooler to the touch, front and back than last years model.” – Amazon user review
